How to Create a New Company Data File in QuickBooks

A simple way to understand how a software program reads data

​First, understand that the QuickBooks accounting system comprises 3 components:

• QuickBooks program (application) - you must have installed this.
• Data file (*.QBW) - you use the QuickBooks program to create this.
• Data file location (folder) - you decide where you want to save the data file.
